In a thrilling first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich played to a 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena. Vinicius Junior scored a late penalty for Real Madrid, canceling out goals from Joshua Kimmich and Robert Lewandowski for Bayern Munich.
The draw gives Real Madrid a slight advantage heading into the second leg, which will be played at the Santiago Bernabeu on May 4. Bayern Munich will need to score at least twice in Madrid to advance to the final.
Bayern Munich took the lead in the 34th minute when Kimmich scored a stunning goal from outside the box. Real Madrid equalized in the 61st minute when Karim Benzema converted a penalty after David Alaba was adjudged to have fouled Rodrygo.
Lewandowski restored Bayern Munich's lead in the 88th minute, but Vinicius Junior equalized once again in the 90th minute with a penalty of his own. The match was played in front of a capacity crowd of 75,000 fans.
In other Champions League semi-final news, Manchester City beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 in the first leg of their tie at the Parc des Princes. Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez scored the goals for Manchester City, while Kylian Mbappé scored for Paris Saint-Germain.
